Sponsor a Bee Hive

Located in our stunning chalk downland wildflower are three bee hives. The meadow is a habitat of incredible diversity and is listed in the National Biodiversity Action Plan as one of 65 habitats that are a priority for conservation. English chalk downland meadow is rarer than tropical rainforest. As the saying goes, it is the birds and the bees which are linked together and it is great for us to be able to make this link real in our wildflower meadow. We rely on a dedicated team of local beekeepers who come in and look after our hives and bees. Bees are vitally important for both humans and a healthy environment. Around one third of all food eaten by humans relies on the work of bees.

It costs £150 to sponsor a Bee Hive and this is valid for one year. As a thank you for sponsoring one, you will receive:

  • An information pack about bees and our hives
  • A scheduled visit to the hive with the bee club during the active season (usually April-August)
  • A choice of a beeswax candle (burn for ages and smell wonderful!) or a jar of honey
  • A plaque marking your sponsorship will be installed on the viewing hides at the edge of the wildflower meadow for all to see.
